The third quarter of 2023 saw notable activity among the top medical apps in South Africa on the iOS platform. Here’s a closer look at the weekly performance trends for these apps based on data from Sensor Tower.

Lancet Labs Mobile, published by Lancet Laboratories, displayed a stable yet fluctuating download trend. Starting the quarter with 707 downloads in the week of June 26, the app experienced a peak of 836 downloads in mid-August. However, it faced a dip, reaching a low of 432 downloads in the week of August 28, before ending the quarter with 548 downloads in the last week of September.

Netcare, from Netcare Limited, showed a significant increase in weekly downloads throughout the quarter. Starting modestly with 45 downloads in late June, the app's downloads surged to a high of 1.07K in the week of August 14. The app maintained relatively high download numbers, closing the quarter with 777 downloads in the final week of September.

Ampath, published by Ampath Laboratories, also saw a steady download pattern. Beginning the quarter with 619 downloads, the app saw its highest downloads at 735 in mid-August. The quarter ended with a decline to 421 downloads in the last week of September.
